Silent No More

SO, I have been called a bleeding heart ... I have been called BLIND ... I have seen countless friends on social media literally call me an IDIOT in blanket statements about people who are democrats or who support Hillary Clinton. So, you think I am an idiot? Allow me to set the record straight.

I am a WOMAN. I am EDUCATED. I am SUCCESSFUL. I am well read. I am up on current events.

I am kind to others. I care for people.

I think before I speak.

I am TOLERANT of the opinions of those that stand on the opposite side of the party line as me.

I don't perceive one single person, of a certain color, of a certain religion, of a certain sexual orientation the exact same way as the next person.

I UNDERSTAND the difference between a Muslim and a radical - and I took time to educate myself about the difference between the two.

I cry when your loved one is detained, tried, convicted and executed without due process simple because of the color or their skin. I believe that their life matters.

If you wear a badge and protect me every day, I THANK YOU.

I REMEMBER my ancestors who came to this country to give me a better a life and I celebrate them.

I don't think it is OK to treat people of lesser means as LESS THAN.

I recognize that while it is OK to hold our leaders to a higher standard, it is UNREASONABLE to expect them to be perfect.

And if you call me an idiot for being a democrat or for supporting Hillary Clinton, I won't dignify it with a response. I won't even hate you or get angry with you. The world has much too much hate and anger - I won't contribute.
